Bunny Donuts
Easter is one of my favorite baking holidays, it's at least the cutest. Bunnies, chicks, lambs, oh my!
For these you can use whatever donuts you want. I found that other donut batter recipes don't work in my little mini donut maker so if you have a mini donut pan, instead of a maker that has a recipe included, here is Sprinkles Bakes recipe for baked mini donuts. You could also just buy premade donuts and make them full size bunnies.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
20 mini donuts
8 ounces bright white candy melts
2 ounces black candy melts
2 ounces pink candy melts
coconut oil
cooling rack
parchment paper
10 mini marshmallows
#2 piping tip
#1 piping tip
piping bags
Once you have your donuts, take your bright white candy melts and melt per instructions. Add a little coconut oil, like a pea size amount. It makes the candy melts a little thinner and easier to coat evenly and smooth. You can add a little more coconut oil if you don't think that was enough. Once you have your candy melts at the right consistency, dip your donuts in halfway and place them on a cooling rack over parchment paper.
Then take your mini marshmallows and cut them half with scissors that you have dipped in water. The water makes it a lot easier to cut. Place them on the donuts before they have dried.
Then once dried, use the same white candy melts (you may have to reheat) in a piping bag fitted with a #2 piping tipto make the little ears.
Then melt a little bit of black candy melts, and in a piping bag fitted with a #1 piping tip, pipe on the eyes. And lastly, with melted pink candy melts in a piping bag with a #1 tip, pipe on the the pink inside of the ears on top of the white ears you made, and the little nose.
